My life journey


Mata is a mother, dancer, teacher, massage therapist and movement therapist,

from Athens, Greece

She lived in Athens, New York and now she is living

in Berlin for the last fifteen years

She is working corporal since a very young age.

First from the age of nine, as a short distance runner in the professional track and field team Ethnicos in Athens,

then from the age of nineteen trained dancer and teacher with

a BFA in dance pedagogy and movement studies in Athens, NY and Berlin

For more than twenty years she is practicing different styles of Qigong and Yoga

She is professionally performing with various choreographers and artists

traveling around the world.

Her longest engagement (since 2005), as a member of the Sasha Waltz & Guests dance company

Her fields of inspiration and interests:

Yoga, Breathing techniques, Meditation, Qigong and Shiatsu.

Dance and movement systems as Klein technique, Body Mind Centering,

Merce Cunningham technique, Release Technique and Contact improvisation

She is a teacher of Hatha Yoga, Yin Yoga and Restorative Yoga with singing bowls.

She is teaching Five Elements Qigong, Duft Qigong amongst other Qigong styles

She is a practitioner of Zen-Shiatsu and versatile Massage techniques (Classic Massage,

Deeptissue, Ayurveda-Abyanga, Foot Reflexology and Chakra- Energetic Massage)

Meditation and Relaxation techniques such as Yoga Nidra and Autogenic Training

Mata is now writing her dissertation for her diploma as a Movement Therapist,

(Ganzheitliches Bewegungtherapeut)

on the fields of (Zen- Shiatsu Practitioner, Yoga Teacher, Qi-Gong Teacher,

Relaxation and Meditation Practitioner) from the Campus Naturalis, Berlin

She is also studying at the European Shiatsu Institute (ESI)

for a further Zen- Shiatsu Therapist certification

She is recently working as a Massage Therapist at 

Die Wohlfühler and Mysseur in Berlin

Her vision is to use different corporal techniques, including hands on praxis,

to establish a strong connection between the body, mind and spirit,

resulting in healthy living and prevention from disease
